The South American preselection for the Prix de Lausanne 2019 took place this weekend at the Teatro Rio Vermelho in Goiânia, Brazil.
This year, 43 dancers took part in this preselection. They were coming from different countries of the continent such as Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

They have been awarded an all-expense paid trip to come to Switzerland and participate in the upcoming edition of the competition next February :
– For the two first winners, the Prix de Lausanne finance their trip.
– For the third winner, So Dança offers a cash prize.
The panel was composed of Kathryn Bradney (Artistic & Executive Director of the Prix de Lausanne, former Principal Dancer of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne), Igor Piovano (Director of the Igokat Dance Academy, former Principal Dancer of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne), Gisela Vaz (President of the Brazilian Council of Dance), Lidia Segni (ex-Director of the Colón Theater’s Permanent Ballet Company, Argentine), Claudia Zaccari (Coordinator of the Opus Ballet’s Ballet Department, Italia).
