Classes for local students

Preparations for the 53rd edition of the Prix de Lausanne are in full swing, and we are already looking forward to welcoming the candidates selected for this edition.

This year, we are pleased to invite students from dance schools in French-speaking Switzerland to two free classical dance classes and one free contemporary dance class in Beaulieu Lausanne. The classes will be held on  according to the following schedule.

Classes programme

  • 5.00 pm – 6.15 pm: Classical dance class given by Myrna Kamara.
  • 6.30 pm: Students are then invited to attend the Meet the Jury event at the Beaulieu Theatre.
    • Be inspired by the stories shared by the nine members of the Prix de Lausanne Jury and learn more about the journeys of these iconic figures in the world of dance. The discussion will be moderated by Jean Pierre Pastori, a renowned dance journalist and expert on the Prix de Lausanne. Admission is free
  • 4.30 pm – 5.45 pm: Contemporary dance class given by Sarawanee Tanatanit.
  • 6.00 pm: Students are then invited to attend the Choreographic Evening for free, at the Beaulieu Theatre. Accompanying persons can purchase a ticket at the reception or online.
  • 4.45 pm – 6.15 pm: classical dance class given by Myrna Kamara.
  • 3.00 pm – 6.00 pm: Students are also invited to a pointe shoe fitting session offered by So Dança.

Useful information

  • These classes are intended for students aged 14 to 19, who have practiced classical dance for at least 5 years, intermediate/advanced level.
  • Participation in the classes is free, but registration is mandatory using the form available online on our website (www.prixdelausanne.org), from Monday, January 13, at noon.
  • The registration deadline is Thursday, January 23.
  • The number of registrations is limited to 30 per class.
  • Registration for the classes gives access to the competition area all day. Accompanying people must have a day ticket on sale for 25 francs (15 francs for students, AVS and dance professionals, free up to 18 years old).
