The annual Prix de Lausanne South American Preselection will take place from September 26th to October 3rd, 2014, in Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba, Argentina.
In the past three years, many candidates selected at the Prix de Lausanne Preselection in Argentina made it all the way to the Prix de Lausanne finals.
In 2011, Mayara Magri, from Rio de Janeiro, won the first prize and received a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School. She is now in the Corps de Ballet at the Royal Ballet in London. In 2012, Edson Barbosa, also from Rio de Janeiro, won a prize and received a scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet School’s Trainee Program. He is now in the Corps de Ballet at Joffrey Ballet in Boston. Also preselected in Argentina, Adhonay Soares, from Goiás, won the first prize in 2013. He is now training at the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Germany. In 2014, three candidates from South America made it all the way to the finals and were offered multiple scholarships through the Prix de Lausanne Networking Forum.
For its eleventh edition, the Preselection jury will include:
The jury will select three candidates who will win an all-expense paid trip to the 2015 Prix de Lausanne. The top ten finalists of the Preselection in Argentina will benefit from a professionally produced video to enter in the Video Selection of the Prix de Lausanne.
