Despite the exceptional format of this edition, the 78 candidates from all around the world have been able to show their hard work and talent via video. Following a week of ballet class exercises, they have presented today their classical and contemporary variations on video.
At the end of this day of Selections, the Jury, made of 9 renowned personalities of the dance world and presided this year by Richard Wherlock, Director & Head Choreographer of the Basel Ballet, have selected the 20 Finalists of this Prix de Lausanne 2021 – Video Edition:

The 20 selected candidates are from 11 different countries. The most represented ones are Brazil (4 candidates) and Japan and South Korea with 3 candidates each.
The Finals will take place on Saturday, February 6th at 2pm (Switzerland time). It will be live streamed on ARTE Concert, YouTube, Facebook and the Prix de Lausanne website. The Prize Winners will be announced around 4.30pm. 6 Prize Winners will receive a scholarship and have the unique opportunity to choose among the most prominent schools and companies of ballet in the world.
