Young Creation Award Winners

We are really excited to have been able to hold the first edition of the Young Creation Award despite the situation.

5 Finalists have presented their original choreographies to the Jury on Wednesday, via video. Today, after the Finals, the Jury has announced the two winners of this brand new choreographic programme:

• Samuel Winkler with his variation “Suppress“, danced by Gabriel Barbosa (School of Hamburg Ballet John-Neumeier). Music: ‘Aurora’ by Vincent Isler
• Maya Smallwood with her variation “Unravel“, danced by Ewan Hartman (Canada’s National Ballet School). Music: ‘Euphoria’ by Vincent Isler

The two winning choreographies will be added to the Prix de Lausanne 2022 contemporary repertoire. The two young choreographers will have the chance to come and coach the 2022 candidates who will have chosen their variations during the 2022 competition week.
