Kosuke Yamamoto began his training in Japan. In 1996, at the young age of 13, he received the Jury’s Special Award at the Nagoya World Ballet & Modern Dance Competition and the Nijinsky Award from the Polish National Opera Theater. He entered the Royal Ballet School in the UK in 1998.
After his training at RBS, he joined the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2000, where he was later promoted to soloist at the age of 19. He danced the leading roles of the company’s repertoires include Ashton, MacMillan, Bintley, Balanchine, Cranko among others.
Kosuke Yamamoto returned to Japan ,and guest teacher at the Royal Ballet (UK), The National ballet of Japan, The Star Dancers Ballet (Japan), The Tokyo city ballet as well as putting the performances on a wide range of arts fields as producer. He is also a guest professor at Senzoku Music University, in Kawasaki (Japan).
In 2024, he joins the jury for the Asia-Pacific preselection of the Prix de Lausanne, which takes place in Macau from September 27 to 29.
