Curriculum Vitae

Organisational Psychologist
Former Principal Dancer, Royal Ballet London
Member of the Jury 2020

I’m passionate about engaging with dancers and dance leadership to work towards a more inclusive, nurturing and ultimately innovative art form. What a privilege to be involved in the Prix de Lausanne, where future dance artists from all over the world expand their horizons.

Jaimie is an Organisational and Coaching Psychologist who draws on contextual behavioural approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She works with individuals and groups to improve their performance and enhance their health and wellbeing.

Prior to retraining as an Organisational Psychologist (MSc, City, University of London), Jaimie had a 13-year career as a professional ballet dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and the Royal Ballet Company (UK). She retired as Principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in 2006.

In addition to her work as a Psychologist, Jaimie’s portfolio career includes an executive role leading the strategic development of staff health and performance at Shoreditch Trust as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Psychological Wellbeing and Neuroscience, City, University of London.

Jaimie has a special interest in working with professional artists and athletes, helping them (re)discover meaning and purpose in their careers and lives, and navigate through different career and life stages. She currently works with a number of professional dance companies in the UK, including The Royal Ballet, Rambert, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Northern Ballet, Richard Alston Dance Company and Scottish Ballet. In addition, she works as a consultant with the National Ballet School of Canada and is a Trustee of Studio Wayne McGregor.
