I have already been here as a participant, as a guest artist for the gala and as a member of the Jury. What an honour and pleasure to participate again in this amazing event that was so important for my own career as a young dancer, giving me the chance to leap on to the professional dance world! I’m very thankful that is given me now the chance to share my experience with the young generations.

Asier Uriagereka was born in 1975 and started dance in Bilbao. He joined the Royal Ballet School after having won the Prix de Lausanne in 1993.

He danced as a Principal dancer at the Birmingham Royal Ballet from 1994 to 1999 and at the Grand Théâtre de Genève from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, he joined les Ballets de Monte-Carlo where he danced major roles in Jean-Christophe Maillot’s productions such as Romeo and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, the Prince in Cinderella and La Belle, Adam in Œil pour Œil, Faust in Faust or Demetrious and Oberon in Songe. He also danced in Opus 40, Dov’è la Luna, Men’s Dance, Les Noces, D’une Rive à l’Autre, Altro Canto, Shéhérazade, Choré, LAC.
He also performed in many pieces of guest choreographers such as: Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Marie Chouinard, Emio Greco, Twyla Tharp, Giacopo Godani, Johan Inger, Lightfoot & Leon, Nacho Duato, Shen Wei, Nicolo Fonte, Jeroën Verbruggen…
