Alejandro Martínez is a First Soloist with the Dresden SemperOper Ballet. Born in Spain, he began his dance studies with José Antonio Robles in Murcia. He competed at the Prix de Lausanne 2011 and was offered a Summer Course at the Houston Ballet Academy. He eventually moved to New York City where he graduated from the School of American Ballet.
He has performed leading roles in classical ballets like Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker as well as in pieces by Kylian, Forsythe, Dawson, Ashton, and Balanchine among others.
He has also originated roles in new choreographies by Dawson, Ekman, Palmquist, and Thomas.
