A landmark partnership between the Prix de Lausanne, San Francisco Ballet School and the Swiss Consulate celebrates dance excellence in San Francisco

Wednesday, 22 April: San Francisco Ballet School
Masterclass led by Kathryn Bradney 

During the Prix de Lausanne official visit to San Francisco, Kathryn Bradney, Artistic & Executive Director of the Prix de Lausanne — internationally acclaimed performer, teacher, and choreographer — led a masterclass for advanced students of the San Francisco Ballet School. A total of 50 students participated in this masterclass, which ran longer than expected due to the high turnout. Among the attendees were several former candidates from the Prix de Lausanne.

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce our new partnership with the San Francisco Ballet School, a collaboration rooted in our shared passion for the art of dance.

Thursday, 23 April: The Prix 
Screening and Q&A at the Atrium Theater 

The Atrium Theater recently came alived with the rythm of dance. The public had the opportunity to discover the documentary The Prix, presented by Dance Film SF. The film offers a captivating immersion into the demanding world of the competition, following four Prix de Lausanne candidates on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

Following the screening, an engaging insightful and inspiring Q&A session was moderated by Frances Chung, Principal Dancer of the SF Ballet and 2020 Prize Winner of the Prix de Lausanne. The audience was able to extend the experience by listenting to the insights shared by the evening’s guests of honour: Katryn Bradney, Artistic and Executive Director, and Prize Winners of the Prix de Lausanne, Milo Demeulenaere, Isabella Howard and Crystal Huang.

Together, they shared their vision of the pursuit of excellence, offering the audience an authentic glimpse behind the scenes and into the challenges that define the journey of young dancers. This moving discussion built a unique bridge between the images on screen and the reality of the profession, concluding the day on a deeply human and inspiring note.
