Prix de Lausanne prize winner in 1985
General Repetiteur and Ballet Master at the National Ballet of China

In 1985, Xu Gang won a cash prize at the Prix de Lausanne, and after his graduation from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1987 he joined the National Ballet of China. Xu Gang was a Principal dancer for the company and danced all the major roles in ballets such as Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet. In 2002, he spent a year in London to study Laban notation. In 2003, he worked with others to stage a new version of Swan Lake for the National Ballet of China and he was appointed General Repetiteur and Ballet Master of the company in 2012.

Xu Gang est lauréat du Prix de Lausanne en 1985. Il est engagé au Ballet National de Chine en 1987 à l’issue de sa formation à l’Académie de Danse de Beijing. En tant que Principal, Xu Gang a dansé tous les rôles majeurs des ballets du répertoire, tels que le Lac des Cygnes ou Roméo et Juliette. En 2002 il séjourne à Londres pour étudier la notation Laban. En 2003, il remonte le Lac des Cygnes dans une version nouvelle pour le Ballet National de Chine et est nommé répétiteur général et maître de ballet en 2012.
