After Swan Lake by the National Ballet of China, here is The Sleeping Beauty by the Yacobson Ballet founded in 1969, Russia’s first independent company and one of the major companies on the international stage. The premiere of The Sleeping beauty took place at Saint-Petersburg in 1890. This performance aims to revive the spectacular performance of the past in a way that will appeal to today’s audiences. Jean-Guillaume Bart wants to portray more than a simple distillation of its technical prowess. The choreographer considers ballet dancing as narration through body language. For him, the combination between classical choreography and music has its own dynamic, expressive and narrative character. Don’t hesitate to come and see the dance of the fairy Carabosse and understand the origin of her hatred.
