During the competition week, don’t miss out on the choreographic evening, on Wednesday, January 31st. This special evening will take place on Wednesday, 31 January, at 6.00 pm at the Beaulieu Theatre and will be livestreamed!

The Young Creation Award is a competition designed for ballet students from the Prix de Lausanne Partner schools and companies. It gives young students a unique opportunity to give a try at choreographic creation and coaching, which is becoming a more and more important part of a dancer’s career. The participants create an original variation on one of their fellow students and submit it via video to the Prix de Lausanne. A video selection takes place, and five finalists are selected to come and present their variation during the Prix de Lausanne.

Each finalist will present his/her variation in front of the Prix de Lausanne Jury and two winners will be announced at the end of the evening. The two winning choreographies will be added to the competition’s contemporary repertoire in 2024.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to discover the choreographers of tomorrow!

This workshop takes place in Lausanne during the Prix de Lausanne main competition, but is not part of the competition. Students who take part in the Choreographic Project are sent by their Schools to live a unique collective and educational experience of choreography creation. During a whole week, they get the chance to meet with young dancers from all over the world, and to work with some of the biggest choreographers of our era. The choreography, set up and staged in only a few days, is then performed in front of the audience during the Prix de Lausanne Finals.

This year’s choreographer is Kinsun Chan, who will create a brand-new variation with the 24 dancers from our partner schools. He will be assisted by Aurélie Gaillard & Juliette Rahon as assistant choreographers.
