Silvia Selvini was born in Sondalo, Italy. She entered the Ballet School of Teatro alla Scala in 2007 and graduated in 2013. After beginning her professional career with the Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse, she joined The Royal Danish Ballet in 2014. She was promoted to Soloist in 2018 and to Principal Dancer in 2025.
Her repertoire includes leading roles such as Kitri in Don Quixote, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in Cinderella, the Sugar Plum Fairy in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, the Ballerina in Études by Harald Lander, Teresina in August Bournonville’s Napoli and Señorita in August Bournonville’s La Ventana.
In 2022, she received the International Leonardo da Vinci Prize from the Rotary Club, awarded by H.R.H. Princess Benedikte of Denmark.
