Over time, the Prix de Lausanne has developed a wide network of partner schools internationally. This network includes some of the most renowned dance schools, such as the Royal Ballet School in London, the San Francisco Ballet School, and the John Neumeier School of Hamburg Ballet. Building on this network, the Prix de Lausanne established the Partner School Choreographic Project in 2018. Partner schools are invited to send their best students to form a temporary company and co-create a performance for the public in Lausanne.
Each year, around twenty to thirty young dancers from around the world meet for the first time to create an original piece under the direction of a renowned guest choreographer. In just a few days, they get to know each other and work as a team, offering a glimpse into the working conditions of a professional dancer while refining their contemporary dance technique. The creation is presented to the public several times during the week of the competition, allowing the young dancers to experience the entire process from creation to performance before an audience.
Jessica Lang will be assisted by the choreographer Kanji Segawa.
