We are delighted to announce that the Partner School Choreographic Project (PSCP), held during the 2026 Prix de Lausanne, will be led by Edwaard Liang.

Presented each year in parallel with the competition, this cornerstone project invites a distinguished choreographer to create an original work with students from the Prix’s partner schools. For the upcoming edition, we are honored to welcome Edwaard Liang, Artistic Director of The Washington Ballet since 2024 and the first Asian American to lead a major U.S. ballet company. A former Prize Winner of the Prix de Lausanne in 1993 – back when it was called the Professional Prize – Liang went on to join New York City Ballet, marking the beginning of an exceptional career. His full biography can be found here.

The PSCP offers an immersive choreographic and educational experience. Each year, around twenty young dancers from the Prix de Lausanne’s partner schools come together to form a temporary dance company, working intensively throughout the week to bring a new creation to life. Behind closed doors, they share the demanding yet inspiring process of building a complete work in only a few days. Beyond refining their contemporary technique, the project gives them first-hand insight into the realities of a dancer’s life: collaboration, discipline, artistry, and the unique spirit of a company.

Audiences will have several opportunities to discover this creation:

  • Wednesday evening, during the Choreographic Evening, with an open rehearsal offering a glimpse into the creative process.
  • Saturday, with the world premiere, presented as an interlude during the Finals.
  • Sunday, at the Rising Stars performance–a selected compilation of the week’s performances–open to all!

Save the dates! Tickets will go on sale on 10 December 2025 at 12:00 PM on Ticketcorner.

Applications for the Partner School Choreographic Project are open until 15 October!
