This evening is not livestreamed, but will be rebroadcast on Friday, 6 February, at 6pm!
The Choreographic Evening will take place on Wednesday, 4 February, at 6pm at the Beaulieu Theatre.
TicketsThe Young Creation Award is a competition designed for students from the Prix de Lausanne Partner schools and companies. It gives young students a unique opportunity to give a try at choreographic creation and coaching, which is becoming a more and more important part of a dancer’s career. The participants create an original variation on one of their fellow student and submit it via video to the Prix de Lausanne. A video selection takes place, and five finalists are selected to come and present their variation during the Prix de Lausanne.
Each Finalist will present their variation in front of the Prix de Lausanne Jury on Wednesday, February 4. Two winners will be announced at the end of the evening. The two winning choreographies will be added to the competition’s contemporary repertoire 2026.
For this sixth edition, 61 young choreographers (42 girls and 19 boys) from 19 different partner schools have submitted a variation, out of which 5 were selected.

The Partner School Choreographic Project is a choreographic programme that offers some students from our partner schools to come to Lausanne to learn and perform a unique and tailor-made choreography with a renowned choreographer.
This workshop takes place in Lausanne during the Prix de Lausanne main competition, but is not part of the competition. Students who take part in the Choreographic Project are sent by their Schools to live a unique collective and educational experience of choreography creation. During a whole week, they get the chance to meet with young dancers from all over the world, and to work with some of the biggest choreographers of our era. The choreography, set up and staged in only a few days, is then performed in front of the audience during the Prix de Lausanne Finals. This year’s choreographer is Edwaard Liang, who will create a brand-new variation with the 27 dancers from our partner schools:
During the Choreographic Evening, you will have the chance to enjoy a public rehearsal of the project. It will be performed during the Finals’ Interlude Performance on Saturday, February 7, and during our Rising Stars closing event on Sunday, 8 February.
