Each year, the Prix de Lausanne invites a local photographer for a ‘Carte Blanche’ project to document the week of events in his or her own way. This is an opportunity to bring light to the unique atmospheres of the Prix de Lausanne from different points of view and sensibilities.

For its 2025 edition, the Prix de Lausanne entrusted photographer Michael Nyembo with a “carte blanche” to document the competition in his own way.

The Instants en mouvement exhibition captures the elegance and fluidity of young dancers’ movements throughout the week of the Prix de Lausanne. An interplay of light, speed, and texture characterises the photographs, revealing what is usually invisible in motion: energy, strength, tension, and precision. Between each candidate’s passage and the trajectory of every gesture, Michael Nyembo captures the very essence of dance.

Michael Nyembo is an international photographer who discovered his passion for photography following his early experience in the fashion world as a model. In 2014, he began his professional career, specialising in fashion and beauty photography.
