She began her training at the school of the Teatro alla Scala and then attended the Royal Ballet School in London. In 1980, she won the Prix de Lausanne and joined the Royal Ballet that same year. Alessandra Ferri has received numerous prestigious international awards including the Sir Lawrence Olivier Award, the Dance Magazine Award and the Prix Benois de la Danse.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In 2006, she was made a Cavaliere della Repubblica by the President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In 2007, Ms. Ferri retired from ballet. Since 2008 she has been the Director of Dance Programming at the Spoleto Festival in Italy. After a six-year absence, Alessandra Ferri returned to the stage at the Spoleto Festival in 2013 with a dance-play, The Piano Upstairs, that she conceived and choreographed. More recently she performed in New York at the Signature Theater in a production of CHERI.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>Alessandra Ferri, membre du jury 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Alessandra Ferri est n\u00e9e \u00e0 Milan.
