Loterie Romande & Prix de Lausanne 2010, harmonious support

For more than 70 years, the Loterie Romande has played a dominant role at the service of the community.  Since its creation, the redistribution of its profits to associations of public utility around French-speaking Switzerland has been its prime objective.  So it is that each year, close to CHF 180 million are paid out by the cantonal distribution bodies.  Without this invaluable windfall, many projects of benefit to the community would disappear or would quite simply never have come about.  This is particularly the case in the area of culture which alone benefits from 38% of all the amounts redistributed.
The Loterie Romande has for many years supported the Prix de Lausanne by means of its Vaud distribution body.  The Prix de Lausanne brings together talented young ballet dancers from all over the world and offers them a unique opportunity to make contact with great Masters and to go to the best schools in the world.

The Loterie Romande is proud to support an event of the quality of the Prix de Lausanne and hopes that it will thrive for many years to come.

The Leenaards Foundation is proud to be able to look back over more than ten years of support to the Prix de Lausanne and in more general terms over its ongoing contribution to the development of dance and the choreographic art at the highest level.

Now a major event in the dance world, this competition also promotes the cultural reputation of the Lake Geneva region the world over. Both demanding and prestigious by nature, the Prix de Lausanne well deserves the fervent loyalty of the public and justifies the consistent backing of our Foundation.

Created in 1980 thanks to the generosity of Antoine and Rosy Leenaards, the Leenaards Foundation is active in the cantons of Vaud and Geneva. Its mission is to serve the public interest in a philanthropic spirit and it grants support in the form of patronage for a variety of projects demonstrating excellence in the social, scientific and cultural fields.

In terms of culture, the Foundation is active on behalf of institutions, artists and public events. While the forms of support vary, they all meet the criteria of high quality and general interest established by the founders.

Honoured to be helping youthful talents blossom and express themselves, the Leenaards Foundation is delighted to once again witness this gathering of the finest talents in their generation.

The Tradition in Movement at Beau-Rivage Palace

Our story began in 1857. The hotel’s architecture and décor and its charming neo-baroque style are a perfect match for an exceptional location. Very quickly, it acquired a most considerable reputation and was soon welcoming celebrities from the worlds of politics and arts and letters, either as private persons or in their official capacity.

The Beau-Rivage Palace has always adapted to the demands of each era, at the same time preserving its authenticity and maintaining the quality of service that has made it famous worldwide.

Gifted with the heritage of a prestigious past, the ever-renewed confidence of its clients and the will to always go forward, this is the dynamism that so well expresses the hotel’s philosophy: “Tradition moving ever forward”.

2009 has been filled with events for Beau-Rivage Palace. Fistly with the opening of the gastronomic restaurant “Anne-Sophie Pic au Beau-Rivage Palace” as well as the new Lobby Lounge with its contemporary design. Then with the renovation ot the Rotonde, in the heart of the hotel, which after 100 years deserves getting back its original look.

Artists’ projects – our most precious resource

Created in 1991 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Nestlé S.A., the Fondation Nestlé pour l'Art is dedicated to supporting young contemporary Swiss artists. Acting in a field different and yet complementary to the founding company, being audacious and taking risks, unlocking potential, encouraging a new approach and striving for excellence: such are the exciting challenges that are as relevant as ever today.

Commitment to ongoing dialogue; a determination to promote regular encounters with artists, the authors of new projects and people belonging to various artistic fields; careful evaluation of the needs of a swiftly changing artistic scene as well as periodic reviews of the main lines of involvement in the fields of visual arts, music and performing arts: these fundamental principles have always governed the support provided by the Fondation Nestlé pour l'Art.

Entirely in harmony with its primary vocation that consists in aiding youthful creativity, the Fondation Nestlé pour l'Art has been partnering the Prix de Lausanne for many years, particularly through the Contemporary Dance Prize that it has been sponsoring since its creation.
